This Policy explains how Acta Verum ("we") collects, uses, stores and protects the personal data of users ("you") of actaverum.com, as the data controller, under applicable data-protection law including the EU GDPR and Brazil's LGPD.

1. Data we collect

Account data: your email address (for passwordless sign-in via magic link or Google OAuth) and the nickname you choose.
User content: comments, votes and reactions you post.
Preferences: language, theme, accent colour and favourite/hidden sections, stored on your device and/or profile.
Usage data: aggregate analytics (page views, device, referrer) for statistics.

We do not collect passwords — authentication is passwordless, via magic link or Google account.

2. Purposes and legal bases

We process data to: (a) authenticate and maintain your account; (b) display and moderate comments; (c) personalise your feed; (d) send the newsletter when requested; (e) produce audience statistics. The applicable legal bases are consent, performance of a contract and legitimate interest, as relevant.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with processors that provide services to us (email, authentication, hosting, analytics), strictly for the purposes above, or where required by law.

We use essential and statistical cookies and local storage, detailed in our Cookie Policy.

5. Your rights

At any time you can access, correct, export or delete your data and account, and withdraw consent. These options are available in your account area or on request.

6. Retention and security

We keep data for as long as needed for the stated purposes or legal obligations, and apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it.
